The article is devoted to the study of the pedagogical potential of animated films. The authors propose to consider animated films as a tool for influencing a child’s emotional sphere, relying on V.V. Lebedinsky’s theory of the multi–level structure of the emotional regulation system. The paper systematically analyses how the formal and substantive components of animated films affect the development of field reactivity, stereotypes, expansion, and emotional control. Particular attention is given to the significance of such analysis for pedagogical practice, including work with children with disabilities (CWD). The article presents criteria for the pedagogical assessment of animated films and methodological recommendations for their use in the educational process.
