YouTube is successfully used by the media as a platform for creating unique content. The emergence of high-quality YouTube journalism marked a new milestone in the work of mass media, and also somewhat blurred the boundaries between a blogger and a journalist. So, most likely, it would not be wrong to call a journalist working on the YouTube platform a blogger, but the truth of such a comparison, on the contrary, is unlikely. Investigative journalism appeared on the YouTube platform relatively recently, but has already managed to fully take shape in the new media environment and receive a great response from the audience.
The article analyzes the possibilities of blogging in the political information space. The blog is seen by the authors as an effective tool of political communication. The risks of blogging are indicated: poor verifiability, frequent presence of communicative aggression, manipulativeness.
