The article reveals the peculiarities of texts content understanding by junior schoolchildren with hearing impairments. To assess this ability, a complex of three diagnostic tasks is proposed. The results of children examination are presented. It is reported that junior schoolchildren with hearing impairments distort the content of the texts read. Children focus on individual words, and not on the content of the story as a whole. Students do not define semantic links between parts of texts.

The article presents the technology of psycho-correctional work on the development of creative thinking in junior schoolchildren with impaired hearing. The games with sand are chosen as a means of corrective action. It is noted the specifics of working with children in two directions. The author points out the need to develop creative intent in schoolchildren. It is recommended to use other equipment in addition to sand: toys, forms, natural materials.

The article presents the results of studying the creative thinking of junior students with hearing pathology. To obtain objective data, both hearing impaired children and their healthy peers participated in the study. It was revealed that creative abilities and creative thinking are poorly developed among hearing impaired students as compared with their healthy peers. A child with a hearing impairment tends to operate with stamps. It is difficult for him to produce and implement his own plan, to create atypical images and objects.
