The author identifies the sequence of the abolition of serfdom in 1861 in Russia by Alexander II. The author considers the certain aspects of the work of the temporal and spiritual power during the preparation and holding of the peasant reform on the materials of the Oryol Gubernia.

The Church life of Stavropol during 1917-1945 - the most difficult and the key period for the ROC is analyzed.
