This article examines the need for understanding the concept and essence of competition and enterprise competitiveness in today's marketplace. The concept and role of competition in the marketplace between enterprises are explored. Various interpretations and relationships between the concepts of enterprise competitiveness and product competitiveness are presented. The importance of creating a specific competitive advantage for an enterprise, which contributes to strengthening its competitiveness among similar market participants, is considered. The various types of factors and their classification that influence an enterprise's level of competitiveness are presented. It is concluded that achieving a high level of enterprise competitiveness is only possible with effective management of the existing set of competitiveness factors.
