Teaching foreign languages includes many aspects. Some problems of teaching linguistic-regional aspect (country study) are considered in this article. Linguistic and cultural studies are culture and civilization of any country. Linguistic and cultural aspect is presented in this work as the main, integral part of language acqui-sition.
The article deals with the use of linguo-cultural material at the initial stage of teaching a foreign language. The author considers the origin of culture-oriented linguistics as a separate branch of linguistics, describes five principles that form the methodological base culture-oriented linguistics, analyzes the ways of communicating country-specific information to students, concludes that the linguo-cultural aspect is an important component of foreign language education at its every stage, including early education. It has a high didactic potential, as it forms children’s interest and motivation to learn a foreign language; meets the principles of informativeness and novelty, which must be adhered proceeding from features of developmental psychology of preschool children and primary school students; to present and improve linguo-cultural information, as well as other linguistic and non-linguistic knowledge, it is advisable to use activities peculiar to children of this age
