The article discusses problematic issues related to the implementation of operational investigative activities to identify and suppress the smuggling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances carried out by international mail. It is noted that high-quality recording of the results obtained is necessary for their subsequent use in deciding whether to initiate a criminal case, as well as in the course of proving the circumstances of the commission of a crime. The author also draws attention to the problem of population narcosis and the need to counteract the illegal supply of narcotic drugs from foreign countries.
