The article deals with the results of marketing analysis of the labor market in Orenburg region in 2014-2016. The main factors that determine the specificity of the regional labor market are stated. The causes of labor supply–demand imbalance are studied, as well as the causes of overabundance of certain professions and shortage of working professions. The unemployment rates in the region by certain groups of population who are rejected by the labor market, and experience discrimination, are considered.
