This article deals with the problem of formation of oral coherent speech of younger schoolboys at lessons of literary reading in the course of the study, cheniya fables. The author provides a list of the names of fa-bles included in various educational-methodical complexes, by years of study. The paper discusses the basics-WIDE types of exercises aimed at developing students' ability to freely and coherently express their thoughts orally, in accordance with the situation of communication.
The article analyzes the fable translation by M. I. Tsvetaeva «The Wolf and the Goat». The main purpose of the research work is to identify features in the depiction of animals by the poet of the XX century. In the course of the study, the historical prerequisites for the creation of the work, the peculiarities of the translation of Jewish poetry were revealed.
