This article highlights issues of modern expertology that influence organization of forensic expert activities. Besides current issues of non-state forensic expert activity and ways of solving them are presented as well as problems of assessing the level of competence of an expert and innovations in forensic expertology: standardization, certification and etc. The necessity of carrying out systematization of types of forensic examinations and the necessity of improvement of scientific and methodological support are particularly mentioned.

The article is devoted to the study of types of forensic examinations, the classification of which is currently of great importance both for theoretical research and for organizational forensic expertise.
