The article deals with various types of names of persons, traditional for business letters of the middle of the XVII century. We see names that are used today, as well as obsolete in our days.

The article discusses the linguistic means of expressing imperative in the texts of the business content of the late XVIII century. The author concludes that most often imperative in the texts under consideration is expressed not by the imperative forms of verbs, but by infinitive constructions.
