In the modern world, where the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies plays a key role in ensuring security and order in society, the relevance of the implementation of the prosecution function by the preliminary investigation bodies cannot be overestimated. The article is devoted to a deep analysis of the functions of the investigator in domestic criminal proceedings, focusing on their versatility and interaction with the procedural status of this official. The study is supported by extensive citations of scientific works by leading experts in the field of criminal proceedings. In conclusion, the article proposes a set of measures to improve the system of functions of the investigator, aimed at strengthening human rights guarantees and improving the quality of preliminary investigation in the context of modern legal reality.
Criminal procedure law requires ensuring a fair trial, which includes the opportunity for the accused and his defense attorney to familiarize themselves with the case materials. This aspect plays a key role in implementing the principle of adversarial proceedings and guaranteeing the right to defense. However, in practice, various difficulties arise related to the time limitation allotted for familiarization with the case materials. This article analyzes the theoretical and practical aspects of this problem and suggests possible solutions to overcome it.
This article is devoted to the formation of an automated investigator's workplace in the context of the need to increase the effectiveness of disclosure, investigation and prevention of crimes committed using information and telecommunication technologies. The general functionality of automating the investigator's work organization is considered. The current directions of the development of the automated workplace of the investigator in the context of the development of digital technologies are analyzed.
