The article examines the key aspects of intercultural communication in the context of modern globalization processes. The main attention is paid to the study of the phenomena of intercultural asymmetry and cultural universals, and their role in building an intercultural dialogue is analyzed. The author emphasizes that successful language teaching is impossible without taking into account the cultural characteristics and value orientations of native speakers and considers it necessary to integrate the cultural component into the process of teaching foreign languages.
