The article is devoted to the major figures of Russian culture, I.A. Vsevolozhsky. The paper identifies the main, the most revealing aspects of his bright and extraordinary personality. The research is conducted on the background of the broader context of social and artistic life in Russia in the late XIX – XX centuries. The article marked path interference personality Vsevolozhsky and the whole structure of the domestic life of the time. It revealed that the structure-forming principle of the personality and life of Vsevolozhsky was the "harmonious dualism". The material provides a variety of sources on the history of culture.
