ART 185033
The article deals with compound word spelling, including reduplicate formations. It is noted that significant changes have occurred in compound word spelling recently. Along with the traditional «hyphen», such signs as a space, exclamation point, comma and auxiliary parts of speech began to be used in reduplicate spelling in accordance with their punctuation and spelling shape, as well as graphic marking. The appearance of compound words written with breaking the traditional norms of spelling is associated with the expansion of hyphen functions, as well as with intentions of authors seeking to demonstrate expression and specify semantics by means of a graphical shift. New formations are occasional words, the originality of which is largely determined by the practice of Internet discourse.
The functional features of individual author's derivatives in modern poetic discourse are described in the article. Nominative, expressive, compressive, text-forming and trope-forming functions are considered in detail; the functions of creating a language game and intertextual connections are also dealt with.
