This article examines the key milestones in the history and current development of the D.I. Mendeleyev Tobolsk Pedagogical Institute (branch) of Tyumen State University. It analyzes key strategic areas of the institute's transformation, including updating educational programs, digitalizing the educational process, developing research potential, and strengthening its role in the sociocultural space of the historic city. Particular attention is paid to preserving the unique pedagogical heritage amid the modernization of higher education.
