There is a large number of new opportunities for the creation and use of political myths during the period of intensive promotion of information technologies. The present time is a period of created reality constructed with the help of myths. For this reason, understanding the elements and their interrelated work in political mythology is an important factor for survival in today's society. Consequently, there is an increasing need for research and careful study of this issue.

Stalin is a man whose life course people began to argue about during his lifetime, then continued their argument immediately after his death. They are arguing about it now and are unlikely to stop arguing in the nearest future. It would be strange if many political myths had not been created around such a significant figure. Opinions about it differ significantly in modern Russia, and conclusions may lead to a new civil war.

Political myths have been existing from ancient times. Being a form of social consciousness, they always reflect the interests of a narrow social group. They can motivate the population of the country to creative activity or cause chaos, the collapse of society and the state. This article is devoted to the analysis of the latter situation, when the destruction of a certain political myth or the creation of a new one can have an influence on the very possibility of the collapse or destruction of the state.
