The subject of study in the paper is the problem of air passengers’ safety. Currently, one of the approaches to the problem is the introduction of profiling technology to the work of airport security and law enforcement. The concept of profiling is based on building a psychological profile (portrait) of a passenger. Profiling provides the opportunity to receive objective information about the potential dangers of the subject and can be effectively used for measures to prevent acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation and other transport infrastructure.
The article deals with topical issues of professional training of SAB profilers in the conditions of foreign language communication. The level of aviation security in transport depends not only on the technical equipment of transport security units, but also on the level of professional training of employees, including profilers, and the system of additional professional training will play no small role in this.
The article discusses the main features of the formation of professional skills of future employees of the aviation security service for monitoring and interviewing. The problems of formation of the mentioned skills and ways of their solution at the present stage are defined.
The article considers one of the promising directions of profiling – criminal profiling, reveals the specifics of its application in the practice of law enforcement agencies, the variety of approaches to the definition and interpretation of this term; analyses the basic principle and essence of the use of this technology of applying psychological knowledge in criminal procedural relations.
