The present article reveals the specifics of organization and rendering of psychological aid to the forced migrants in Russia and in foreign countries (Europe, Canada, USA). The comparison of the most effective approaches in psychological counseling and psychotherapy of refugees is presented. Recent Russian developments in rendering psychological aid to refugees as well as the principles of holism and multiculturalism as factors increasing efficiency of mental health service are also considered. Finally, the current state of mental health services in Russia and their readiness to provide psychological aid to internally displaced persons are considered.

The article presents the research and views of foreign authors on the socio-psychological factors of the subjective economic well-being of migrants and refugees in different countries. This review of modern literature draws on a rapidly developing body of research in Europe and beyond and discusses the commonalities and differences between the countries of origin and destination of refugees and migrants, focusing on temporary trends and significant differences, as well as the socio-economic characteristics of refugees.
