The article is devoted to the analysis of the literary legacy of the English writer of the first half of the 20th century William Somerset Maugham. The author puts the focus on the works that deal with the problems of family and marriage. The problems under discussion are viewed within the context of Maugham's ideas. The novelist's concepts of true love and happy marriage are also represented in the article.
The article focuses on the ways of using the questionnaire as a means of teaching and a means of checking the level of formation of communicative competence of undergraduate students of a language university. This article presents the experience of the Pushkin Literary and Art Museum. What is a museum? It is a preserved memory, a meeting with the beautiful, a place of intellectual relaxation, discovery. The school museum will show Pushkin's relics, authentic things and works of art. Working with students of grades 1-11 is distinguished by a variety of directions, forms, methods and techniques. The museum comes to the aid of education. Educational programs developed by teachers are aimed at developing teenagers' interest in learning about the history of national cul-ture, the history of their native land and, above all, to study Pushkin's time and the poet's creative heritage. The program of in-depth study of the life and work of A.S. Pushkin reflects the attitude of the scientist-teacher M.A.Rybnikova to in-depth and close study of the author, long-term communication with the writer throughout the student's school life (in this case, from the 1st to the11th grade). Students need to be surrounded by an era, people, learn how to use a book, seek out and find techniques for working on the author. This will give an opportunity to learn more about the writer. Pushkin is an ideal teacher of Beauty. The values embedded in his work represent the richest opportunities for the education and upbringing of the younger generation. These values act as a spiritual shield against violence, cruelty, and lack of spirituality that reign in the world.
