The article considers peculiarities of transformation of social structure and its influence on social order; it also focuses on the social changes occurring in modern conditions of development of society.

The article evaluates various interpretations of "social practices" concept in foreign and domestic social and philosophical works. The discussion aspects of the social practices institutionalization problem research are touched upon. The author suggests definition of social practices from the point of view of several research approaches and paradigms synthesis.

Public opinion shaped in a proper way is one of the main elements of the harmonious development of the society. Currently in Russia there are some specific features which characterize modern collective thinking. All of them form the basis for the further studies dedicated to the public opinion and to the creation of PR-technologies. In the article the principle problem which arises when social institutions are trying to shape and change public opinion will be considered, as well as possible solutions to this problem. The subject of this study is the PR-activities of social institutions.

The article is devoted to the study of the experience of using technologies of social work with family and children in the conditions of social institutions in Russia. The article describes the social protection infrastructure in the regions, including the work of Moscow family centers and institutions in the Perm Region that support families with children. The most important technologies of social work are highlighted, such as case management technology, social support technology, and social patronage technology. Key areas of social work have been identified, such as early diagnosis of violations of children's rights, targeted assistance and an individual approach to each case. The use of social technologies to improve the quality of life of families with children is substantiated.
