The article presents a study of social well-being based on the main indicators and goals of Russia's social policy. The relationship between well-being and life satisfaction, as well as the level of happiness, is given. The analysis of social well-being should include a multifactorial model based on tangible and intangible indicators. The author cites the indices of social well-being and the model of their calculation adopted in Russian practice.

The article examines the methodology of interpretation of the concept of "social policy", confirms the importance of social policy as a factor determining the content and focus of professional training of spe-cialists in the social sphere, and also provides the results of a comparative analysis of Chinese and Russian social practices.
