The article is devoted to the monologue listening as one of the most difficult aspect of speech activity and analyses a new training manual on listening and speaking skills development. This training manual was developed at the chair ‘Russian philology’ of the University for foreign students, learning the Russian language. An audio text and a developed set of tasks are given as an example.

The article deals with phonetic and other linguodidactic problems in the development of oral speech that Tajik students face in the lessons of Russian as a foreign language. We also consider ways to eliminate them and ways to overcome difficulties in the process of studying Russian as a foreign language outside the language environment.
