We consider the use of communication approach while studying the topic "Money (Kinds and Functions)" with students of economic faculties during English classes. Communicative exercises aimed at training the receptive and productive kinds of speech activity are described
The article is devoted to the monologue listening as one of the most difficult aspect of speech activity and analyses a new training manual on listening and speaking skills development. This training manual was developed at the chair ‘Russian philology’ of the University for foreign students, learning the Russian language. An audio text and a developed set of tasks are given as an example.

The present article is devoted to the issue of teaching dialogue as one of the types of communicative activity, describes approaches to teaching the dialogue pattern existing in the methodology and suggests different types of preparing, conditionally-communicative and communicative exercises for practicing foreign students’ skills and abilities in the process of implementation of communicative intentions.
