The article presents a speech therapy approach to the use of pictograms in the formation of objective and verbal vocabulary in middle preschool children with a general underdevelopment of speech. Two directions of speech therapy work are highlighted. The author outlines specificity of objective and verbal vocabulary formation in children. The work presents exercises of different types and peculiarities of their doing by preschoolers with general underdevelopment of speech.
