The article deals with the influence of the psychological component on endurance and speed-power qualities of cadets in educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The authors bring out the range of problems in the training of cadets in educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and personnel of the internal affairs bodies, associated with athletics in general and with middle-distance races in particular. Some recommendations on this issue are given, which should be taken into account both by cadets of educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, personnel of internal affairs bodies, and by officers responsible for physical training.

The relevance of the research is due to the need to study the influence of sports motivation on the perception of external factors affecting activities of athletes. The purpose is to analyze the influence of sports motivation on the perception of socio-economic and information factors affecting training and competitive activities. The study revealed that the most common predictors which have a statistically significant impact on respondents’ perception of socio-economic and information factors are “Intrinsic motivation – emotional stimulation” and “Intrinsic motivation – self-development”.
