The article is devoted to for the special military operation of Armed Forces of Russia in Ukraine. Actuality of the conducting and the elaboration in literature are explained, corresponding conclusions are drawn. The aim of the article consists of the author's aspiration to deepen the knowledge of teachers and cadets about the essence of the special military operation of Armed Forces of Russia in Ukraine.

The article examines the history of allied relations between Russia and the Zaporozhye army's hetmans. From 1654 to the present day the oath of allegiance was repeatedly violated, which is often explained by the specifics of the political institution of the hetmanate in Ukraine. Due to the current geopolitical situation, the issue of the strength of political alliances is of particular relevance.
