The problem of lexical means to verbalize the category of uncertainty in modern English language attracts researchers. Referent fuzziness is a characteristic feature of uncertainty, it creates statements with blurred meaning. An uncertain nomination disappears due to the context.

The article examines the main factors influencing social well-being. Among them, the authors attributed network communications, information society, media space, strategies of struggle and overcoming. The conducted research allowed us to form vectors describing social well-being. Among them, the main ones were the vector of stability, the vector of personal goals, the vector of self-determination in social life, the vector of self-realization and satisfaction). The analysis of factors and vectors of social well-being made it possible to formulate successful strategies for managing uncertainty and risks.
