Problems of etymological interpretation of dialect data (based on the names of animal habitats in the dialects of the Urals)

The article analyzes the origin of the Ural lexemes naming the places of animal activity. The complex of lexemes with Proto-Slavic origins is revealed, the development of dialect semantics is analyzed. For the Russian lexemes proper, the generating bases are restored, the internal form is reconstructed. The sources of borrowing are determined.
