The numerical assessment of a person's willpower always remains an urgent scientific problem. This situation is typical not only for psychology. The problem is relevant for historical, social, and political sciences, as well as in the practice of managing economic systems. The purpose of the study is to modify the information and mathematical method for the quantitative assessment of a person's volitional characteristics based on his biographical data. For this purpose, three interrelated concepts are used: the power of an independent volitional quality, the power of expression of will and willpower. The method proposed by the authors is used to assess the volitional properties of a number of outstanding Russian figures. These examples allow us to better understand not only the method presented in the work, but they also have an independent historical and psychological significance.

The numerical assessment of a person's willpower has always remained an urgent problem in psychology. Diagnosing the state of willpower is useful in all areas of activity. This problem, however, has not yet been resolved. The purpose of the study is to build metric scales intended for such an assessment. Three interrelated concepts have been introduced: the power of independent volitional quality, the power of will expression and will power. To record the numerical characteristics, it is proposed to use two types of measuring grid – natural and standard metric scales. The need to use a natural scale is explained by the specifics of a particular measuring instrument. The standard scale compares measured volitional characteristics. A convenient unit for measuring willpower is proposed.

The paper deals with the phenomenon of feeling transformation. The research method is mathematical modeling. The author defines motional tone of feeling and concept of the information inclusion. The concept of wreath of emotions is introduced. The example of emotional wreath for of guilt is shown. The mathematical model of feeling inversion is constructed and analysed.

The paper deals with the concept of emotion accompanied by expectation. This phenomenon got the name ‘emotion of expectation’. The concept ‘intensity of emotion of expectation’ is introduced. The intensity of emotion of expectation is connected with time. It is shown that it is the decreasing function of time. Emotion of expectation is connected with feeling. This emotion can be the basic element of feeling.

The paper views the role and value of expectations in the human life. The expectation phenomenon is investigated by the method of mathematical psychology. The concept ‘voltage of expectation’ is introduced. The mathematical model of expectation is constructed and analysed. It is shown that voltage of expectation is a decreasing function of time. Character of expectation voltage can change due to the obtained information.
