The article presents modern methods of commodity identification and expertise. In particular, the instrumental methods of jewelry analysis and examination are described to determine the compliance with the claimed quality, to evaluate precious stones and metal alloys, and to detect imitations.

This article is a review of the innovations and additions in the Federal law of the Russian Federation "About application of cash registers when implementing cash cash calculations and (or) calculations with use of payment cards", in force since 22 may 2003 well as the characteristic phases of transition to a new type of cash registers, entities that are subject to the law, and its effectiveness for consumers.
