This article concerns the issue of compliments formation in various cultures, namely in Russian and English culture. Furthermore, the article includes information about tactics which can demonstrate increased attention to an interlocutor. In addition, the work draws attention to the means of speech, which contribute to improving the level of communication success, various examples are given, showing the differences in the forms of compliments depending on the situation.

This article examines changes in British English, and in particular the problem of elite English in modern British society, the processes taking place today in it and their impact on the normative British pronunciation-RP (received pronunciation) as "the language of the elite".
