The article focuses on the development of information literacy skills while implementing group interaction in the course of English language learning and acquisition. The authors analyse notions of a monologue (transactional speech) and problem solving activities, describe preparation and implementation stages. Positive characteristics of this teaching technique are specified, and the terms of its implementation are determined. The authors summarize their personal experience, add a fragment of a lesson plan, assess practical results and list recommendations.
