Article is devoted to a general description of the marriage law of the Orthodox Church, the history of Greek Orthodox church marriage. The author provides a chronological overview of the main sources of canonical Orthodox law and their changes. Special attention is given to the interaction between the state and the church in matters of marriage unions.
