Increasingly, on the territory of the Russian Federation, spouses or persons wishing to marry enjoy the right to conclude a marriage contract. In modern practice, there are many examples when a marriage contract provides significant assistance in the joint life of spouses and in case of divorce. But, despite all of the above, marriage contracts still need social and legal support from the state. This article examines the features of the legal nature and grounds for recognizing a marriage contract as invalid.

The article deals with the problem of the need to study the attitude of students towards the institutions of family and marriage, as well as the factors influencing their perception. According to the survey of students of 1-5 courses, it was shown that respondents have a positive attitude towards family and marriage, and their views change according to age, in particular, it was revealed that graduates, unlike freshmen, are more confident in the importance of family values.

The study of value attitudes of modern student youth to starting a family and childbirth is an urgent problem of society today, the solution of which largely determines the future of demographic development. The aim of the article is to analyse and evaluate the attitude of today's students majoring in psychology to the prospect of starting a family and having children. The results of students’ questionnaire survey within the framework of an empirical study conducted in 2024 at the Faculty of Psychology of the L.N. Tolstoy State Pedagogical University are presented here. It is found that psychology majors express their intention to create a family in the future, plan to have children, but, at the same time, they believe that children can interfere with their career; they note that low income, difficult life conditions do not contribute to the birth of children.
