The article reveals the perspectives of applying webquest technology to foreign language teaching as a quintessential approach of raising motivation and developing foreign communicative competence.

The paper deals with the information about the principles of selection and organization of visual aids for teaching a foreign language. It describes the types and functions of visualization, as well as the effective use of visualization and its components at foreign language lessons in non linguistic university.

Types of scientific research, internal and external motives for research activities and main directions of research work are described. The author comes to the conclusion that in assessing the quality of scientific work the complex of interrelated parameters should be taken into consideration.
