The article is devoted to the use of formation and communication technologies in the process of teaching foreign languages as the way to increase to motivation and effectiveness of learning a foreign languages. The author also gives examples of the use of digital technologies in foreign language education.
The article analyzes the approaches of different authors to understanding the intellectual development, attention, perception, and thinking of adolescents. The influence of students ' cognitive activity on academic performance is considered. The results of an empirical study of the mental development of students in grades 5 are presented. Different aspects of mental activity are analyzed – mindfulness, semantic reading, and mathematical thinking.
