The author discusses the experience of the secondary language personality formation on the example of language education in the national pre-revolutionary gymnasium. In the comparative aspect, parallels are stated with the requirements of modern foreign language education. The organization and content of foreign language education in pre-revolutionary gymnasium late XIX early XX century are disclosed, the author allo-cates axiological meaningful experience that can be extrapolated on a modern language education.

The article is devoted to the use of hermeneutic approach in education. The analysis of hermeneutics role and significance in philosophical and pedagogical studies is presented. The possibility of using hermeneutic approach in listening comprehension teaching of the economic specialty students is studied, as it develops the ability of students to understand foreign texts and speech.
The article notes that the competency model in multilingual and multicultural education in university focuses on the development of students' ability for interpersonal communication based on the dialogue, intercultural interaction and mutual enrichment of cultures.
The article touches upon the issue of forming communicative competence while working with authentic texts. The author touches upon the problem of formation of communicative competence of schoolchildren, paying special attention to the possibility of using adapted authentic texts.
The article discusses issues related to the use of Web-quests in the English language classroom in the process of development of the sociocultural component of foreign language communicative competence. The article indicates relevance of the problem under study, analyzes a number of key terms, describes the conditions for the implementation of Web-quests in foreign language classrooms. The authors conclude that Web-quests show high efficiency in the educational process as a tool for the formation of sociocultural competence. Analysis of the designed Web-quest is presented. The article summarizes the results of practical work experience.
