This article performs an analysis of the reducing motivation problem in studying foreign languages. The author draws conclusions about actual forms of conducting lessons and practical methods of influencing students and increasing their motivation.

The article deals with the potential for using mobile applications as one of the means for learning languages. The pros and cons of working with sites for learning foreign languages and language chats like HelloTalk are analysed in the article. We describe using of them as an additional tool for learning foreign languages and a way to increase motivation.
The need-motivational sphere occupies a central place in the structure of the personality. It has a changeable character under the influence of various factors. One of them is activities. In this study, the authors consider the dynamics of learning motivation in learning activity – the leading activity of a primary school student. A special place is occupied by the concretization of the need-motivational sphere in the desire of the younger student to achieve success in educational activities.
The article discusses the results of a psychological study of the political activity of youth in the Orenburg region. Three groups of subjects were singled out according to the degree of activity: deeply included, medium-included, and little-included. Their main characteristics are described.
