The article presents and substantiates the technology of step-by-step reflection, embedded in the content of service work lessons in order to form an ecological and patriotic culture among students in grades 5–7. The author reveals the content of three successive stages of reflection (ascertaining, comparative-analytical, value-semantic) and specific methodological techniques for their implementation in working with materials, ornaments and creative tasks. The application of this approach contributes to the transformation of technological tasks in a situation of personal choice, ensuring the interiorization of environmental and cultural values in the process of practical activity.

The article discusses the structure of the «strong family» value, one of the traditional spiritual and moral values among students. The author analyzes the ideas of young people about the structure of this value and makes recommendations regarding the formation and strengthening of the value of a strong family. It is suggested that students' project activities may become one of the mechanisms of formation of spiritual and moral values.
