The article is devoted to the problem of using social networks as an educational resource as an auxiliary tool for teaching and upbringing. Social networks as the most powerful resource of the educational process have a complex structure and huge opportunities in the field of training and education of the younger generation in the system of continuing education.

In this article, the author examines the features of basketball fans' comments in the Internet space. The author aims to study the linguistic and pragmatic features of basketball fans' comments by analyzing examples taken from such Internet resources as Reddit and Entertainment and Sports Programming Network. To achieve the objectives set in the study, the author used the following methods: theoretical analysis of literature, the method of audiovisual analysis of basketball matches, the method of discourse analy-sis. During the research work, the works of domestic researchers on the problems of the genre of sports commentary were studied and systematized. In addition, the specifics of sports commentary as a genre of Internet discourse are analyzed. The author also draws conclusions about the connection between stylistics and pragmatics of commentary. Thus, the author believes that this study is unique, as its results can contribute to a more detailed understanding of the Western basketball industry for Russian fans.
