The article is devoted to the ways of applying a creative approach to teaching a foreign language, taking into account the specifics of the educational institution. The author reveals the essence of the concept of creative approach, which implies four main aspects: creative process, creative product, creative personality and creative environment. On the basis of practical research, the necessity of applying this type of activity in a foreign language lesson is shown.
The article is devoted to a popular phenomenon in the modern educational system, called "edutainment". The article gives a brief description of edutainment as a special way of teaching, different types and ways of using elements of edutainment in teaching a foreign language. The article describes the tools of edutainment, as well as its role in the formation of foreign language communicative competence.
The article highlights the peculiarities of gamification of the middle school foreign language classroom. Gamification is considered to be a principle of designing lessons as well as a technique and means of incorporating game elements into tasks aimed at achieving subject-specific outcomes of foreign language education. The authors describe and argue in favor of incorporating game elements into tasks with varied focus, revealing their effectiveness in foreign language teaching and learning.
