The materials of investigation of mechanisms of disturbance and features of speech therapist work on overcoming the unformed narrative narrative in children of preschool age with general speech underdevelopment are presented. The author not only revealed specific characteristic features of the violation of the descriptive utterance in children of this category, but also substantiated and outlined the directions and stages of logopedic work.

The article presents scientific data on the speech status of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). A diagnostic complex of three tasks is offered to identify the ability of these preschoolers to understand the content of the illustrations and the text. There are the results of the examination of children with ASD. It is noted that preschoolers’ speech production has poor content. The phrases they use are not structurally complete. Children find it difficult to communicate and avoid communicative interaction.
