In the present article is to review the status of intellectual property market in Russia, considers the structure of foreign trade in intellectual property and provides patent statistics which is the main indicator of innova-tive potential and one of the key indicators of technological development of countries.

The article discusses the issues related to the concept of an information intermediary as a participant of public relations within the framework of intellectual property rights, as well as establishment of civil liability for such kind of entities for violations of intellectual rights in the Internet. The authors draw attention to the effective ways of protecting copyrights in this field and offer some suggestions, which can help to eliminate contradictions and inaccuracies in the formulations.

The paper uses the problem of bringing to responsibility for copyright infringement from the information and telecommunication network «Internet». The current norms providing for liability for these offenses are analyzed, a conclusion is drawn about the problematicness of bringing such persons to justice. A study of Russian and foreign experience in combating such violations is being carried out.

The article examines the characteristics of information Internet advertising, it is indicated that Internet advertising is a complex system in which verbal text is dominant. Copyright should not only reflect the objective aspects of the product, but also demonstrate a creative approach, taking into account the national characteristics of the audience.

This article presented the history of the formation of copyright protection, and also examined the first international convention for the protection of literary and artistic works, identifying its pros and cons. The author distinguished between the concepts of protection and protection of exclusive rights. The principle of territorial protection of copyright is revealed and examples are given when works that are in the public domain have acquired copyright protection. The suggestions of improving current legislation is presented.
