A range of factors influencing Russian population living standard is considered in the article. The statistics describing the consumer basket, income differentiation and pay rate are being analyzed. The results of the sociological studies concerning the welfare assessment are given her.

The article is devoted to the analysis of dynamic changes in the cost of living in the Siberian Federal District. The paper compares the cost of living of the Omsk region with individual regions. According to the results of the structural analysis of the indicators of the subsistence minimum, the Omsk region has a lower value among the regions of the district.
