The paper deals with distant education – one of the most effective ways to accelerate countries’ transition to information-oriented society. The open and distant education allows (on the basis of information and communication technologies) to carry out adaptation of training to the level of trainee’s basic preparation, to the place of his residence, to his health and financial position.
the article is devoted to the problem of distant education as one of the innovation technologies used in modern pedagogics. The peculiarities of mastering the technology by teachers are analyzed in details. Some methods of intermediate results monitoring for the following education process correction are described in conclusion.
The article deals with the stages and the regulatory framework of distant education, especially its development, plans, goals and prospects. At the same time distant education maintains continuity with traditional education. The main characteristics of distant education: flexibility, modularity, economic efficiency, the new role of a teacher, specialized quality control of knowledge, the use of specialized technologies and teaching aids.
The article discusses the main labor functions and the role of the remote teacher in the organization and quality of distance education in additional vocational education. The experience of organizing distance education in INPO FVCU is analyzed.
