The authors views the factors that influence on the motivation to the foreign language study of the students of the higher educational institutions, analyze the methods of improving the motivation. In addition, the examples of methodological development of training and educational activities aimed at making students interested in learning the foreign language are given.

The article analyzes the transformation of the modern educational space and identifies three interrelated areas of change: digitalization, personalization, and metasubjectivity. The author reveals the essence of these areas and their impact on the requirements for the training of future teachers. The paper presents an empirical study conducted in the form of a questionnaire among fifth-year students of the Pedagogical Education program (Mathematics and Computer Science). The analysis of the obtained data revealed gaps in the value-motivational sphere regarding metasubjectivity and personalization, which indicates the need to adjust educational programs.
