The paper justifies the role of goal-setting activities in formation of cognitive professional activity of future teachers-psychologists; reveals the essence of teaching goal setting; analyzes the stages of goal setting of future teachers-psychologists; discloses the contents of main concepts; identifies key components of goal-setting in process of formation of cognitive professional activity of future educational psychologists.

Starting from February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation is conducting a special military operation in Ukraine. The army aviation takes an active part in it. Today, the factor of possible participation in hostilities is a fundamental determinant of the impact on the process of goal-setting of cadets of a military helicopter university. Goal–setting significantly affects the formation and behavior of the personality of the future helicopter officer, and, accordingly, his functioning as a defender of the Motherland. In this paper, a comparative analysis of changes in the life goals of a cadet's personality during the period of study at a military flight university is carried out. The data obtained in the first year of study is compared with the data in the fifth year of the same set of respondents without saving the sample.
