This article presents the results of the study "Innovative forms of vocational guidance work in higher education institutions." We describe the results of the survey of students of the 1 course of the University of Orenburg on the need to introduce innovative forms of vocational guidance work in the University, as well as systematize the main aspects of the use of forms and methods of organization of self-government of the student in the educational environment of the University.
The article presents the results of research on the possibility and feasibility of using digital technologies in teaching English grammar. The author has found that the use of digital technologies makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of teaching foreign language grammar at all four main stages of working on grammatical material. Currently, a significant amount of digital resources has been created for both language learners and teachers to improve the level of students’ motivation and independence, and to facilitate the planning of classes and monitoring of students’ academic achievements for the teacher. Modern digital educational resources can be used not only for teaching various aspects of the language, but also for all types of speech activities, both in the classroom environment and in distance learning, as well as for independent work and work under direct supervision by the teacher. In addition, digital technologies successfully compensate for the limited language environment and the lack of speech practice while learning a foreign language, which, undoubtedly, improves the quality of learning and the level of language proficiency.
The article presents the results of the analysis of the mentality of representatives of certain groups of cultures who study at a higher educational institution of humanitarian orientation. The author finds out that research into the patterns and features of behaviour and studying the values of cultural groups of students contributes to the successful assimilation to the curriculum. The difficulties of teaching foreign languages and pedagogical interaction in a multilingual environment were also clarified, and the most suitable ways of presenting material for foreign students were identified.
The article represents the role and justification of the formation of students’ sociocultural competence in the educational process. A questionnaire was prepared and conducted to determine the level of sociocultural competence. The article describes the results of a survey of bachelor students of the “International Relations” course regarding their understanding of sociocultural competence. The empirical study revealed the difference in the formation of sociocultural competence between students of different courses.
The article presents the results of a study of effective ways of learning new vocabulary with an emphasis on the current trend of education – digital technologies. The author focuses on the educational and gaming categories of digital tools, examines the system of simulators, game mechanics, viewing multimedia tools and drawing up a training plan in a popular cloud service for students.
