The article examines the experience of political leadership to enhance the human factor of socio-economic development of Tula region in the 60-70 years of the XX century. The role of the party leader of the region in strengthening the discipline of labor and Patriotic education of youth as the key directions of the human factor, taking into account the peculiarities of the region and the socio-political situation.

The article discusses some psychological aspects of labor safety; factors determining individual attitude to danger and affecting personal behavior; main types of human reactions in a dangerous situation. It is shown that it is possible to reduce the number of accidents caused by the human factor, if we take into account the peculiarities of the employee’s individual behavior, his formed opinion regarding safety, the level of his preparedness. The author gives an example of solving the urgent task for a transport company to maintain high working efficiency, physical and psychological health of employees, whose work implies regular psycho-emotional overload, by means of appropriate training within the framework of the company’s routine training, including the field of safety psychology.
The article considers the peculiarities of pilots "work and the impact of harmful factors of production on their health, as well as the role of Aviation Medicine discipline in maintaining health and ensuring flight longevity of future pilots. The need to form competences and to set on a healthy lifestyle of the flight crew, starting from the period of training at the Institute, is considered.
